Rules for Playing a Staff Character
While playing a teacher is entirely allowed, there are a few special things you need to know. Make sure to read this before deciding you want to make a teacher! 1. All teachers must be at least 24 years of age. Their playby must match their age, though a little leeway is allowed (because smokers might look older than non-smokers, etc.). For example, Taylor Swift might be able to pass as a 24-year-old, brand-new-to-the-profession teacher. She could not pass as a 32-year-old teacher.
2. Teachers are not required to be Gifted. However, if they are, the same power rules apply as if you were making a student. (Of course, if they're teaching a powers-related class like "Flight Control" or something, they do need to be Gifted.)
3. While teachers have authority over students, they can only give detentions and minor punishments. No teacher can expel a student or threaten to do so. In addition, no non-detention punishment can restrict a student from interacting with others, like confining them to their dorm. Anything that would hinder threads for the student's roleplayer is a no-no.
4. Similar to power limits, teachers may only teach up to two related-discipline subjects, like English and writing, or biology and chemistry. This is to keep positions open so other roleplayers can make teachers as well.
5. Teachers don't have to thread only with other teachers. Interacting with students is great!
