Jodie heard Constance chuckle, and then her comments on her powers. Blowing people away? She chuckled. So the rest of the time, they were 'useless'. Jodie thought a moment.
"What if your powers are useless because your mind has that...attitude...towards yourself and your powers. What if your powers are just meeting your expectations. That's one thing with me. I've always had almost unrealistic expectations of myself. My family made sure I had high expectations for myself. And I only got rewarded with a compliment if I worked like crazy to exceed my normal expectations." She chuckled, rubbing the back of her neck as she looked down. Constance was shorter...odd feeling for her to be looking down. Her family had all been taller than her. And for the most part, she really hadn't associated with other people. Then she thought to look at her red rimmed digital watch. Jodie's eyes widened.
"Crap! I still have homework to do!" She had a sheepish grin on her face now.
"Uh...I need to go back to my dorm room and finish up my homework. I still have my science to do. Due...tomorrow." She gulped.
"And my teacher isn't lax. She's the type to..." Jodie drew a finger across her throat before flopping her head and closing her eyes.
"Not quiet, but she's not exactly easy to please. So...I kinda have to somewhat reluctantly go. It's been awesome talking to you though." She smiled, going over to her boom-box and unplugging it, wrapping the cord around the handle. She took the disc out and put in the leather case, zipping the case back up. Jodie picked up both the case and the CD player and started making the walk back to the dorms.
