A multicolored glass marble rolled across the boys knuckles, seemingly floating across them. Dark eyes scanned the courtyard, taking in every detail of the people out today. What could best be described as a growl came from the boy. He clenched his jaw, inhaling deeply through his nose.
A few scared looks came his way and the boy smirked. They knew who he was, good. They should. Kayne DeRemiro should be known by everyone, if they weren't afraid of the name he'd make it a point to give them a reason to be. "Hmmph." The boy adjusted his leather wrist band, keeping his eyes on a person that kept glancing his way. His cold glare staring into their eyes.

There were people out today, Olivia noticed as she walked through the courtyard. Her hair was still wet as she'd just come from the gym, having had a nice workout and taken a shower. And then somehow her legs led her here, outside, instead of inside. Well then; maybe she could enjoy the crisp November air then - before the snow came.
And as she walked past, not consciously aware of her surroundings, she heard some strange sound, like that of exasperation from someone. Puzzled, she looked in that direction, gaze falling on a guy with dark hair and eyes. It seemed like he was challenging others. Why? A glance around told her that people were afraid. Since he didn't seem too intimidating, Olivia guessed that the fear was coming from the threat of his power. Was it something like Atticus's power that struck fear into people?
And then he caught her gaze. Olivia stared back, unafraid as she analyzed the expression in his eyes. Hostility. She couldn't help twitching - he looked more like a Colombian than an American and it was hard to remind herself that this was a school and attacking was not a good idea.

He tossed the marble in the air, letting it float above his left shoulder. This girl, why was she looking at him? Didn't she know that you don't that you don't stare a predator in the eyes? He licked his lips as he started walking towards the girl. Kayne let the marble circle the girl, staring into her eyes.
"New here." He said, stating not asking a question. Obviously she was or she wouldn't be challenging him like this. "Name?" The boy asked as the marble moved back to him, opening his hand for the sphere to land in it. He closed his hand around it and the glass slowly crept around his knuckles, ready to fight if need be.

Her eyes locked into the object as it caught the light, it was circular and had different colors. Not a bullet or any projectile that she was used to. Was it a weapon? Olivia chose to stare at the boy's eyes instead of at the marble, focusing on it in her peripheral vision. It seemed to have a mind of its own. Telekinesis, perhaps? It seemed like a legitimate explanation for the movement of the marble.
Ah. It was orbiting her. Like a homing missile that was confused. Was he going to attack? Without lifting her gaze from the other, Olivia shifted her stance to a cautious one, ready to move if need be. "Olivia Sanchez," she replied automatically at the abrupt, crisp tone. In a way it was militaristic and familiar. But he'd also reminded her that she was in a school. "What is new for you?" She asked quietly, accent still coloring her voice. The object was no longer as close to her. There was still a threat though, so she didn't relax.

"Olivia." He said repeating the name. "My names Kayne DeRemiro. You'll do well to learn it fast. I'm the apex predator around these parts." He said as he bared his teeth a bit. "I'd suggest you turn around right now and go back to wherever the hell you came from. I don't particularly enjoy freshmeat coming and stomping all over my territory." Kayne said as the glass formed small spikes on his knuckles. "It's not the smartest move."

Olivia spared a short, curt nod as he repeated her name. His name didn't sound entirely Spanish, but there were hints in there. He also used complicated English vocabulary. The more he talked, the less she could compare him to the militants back in Colombia. Good. It meant that she probably wouldn't have too many problems with him and his attitude. The attitude was just ruining it all.
She couldn't help releasing a humorless smile. The way he spoke sounded like a challenge; like he thought that she was a threat to him. Was Olivia supposed to be flattered or insulted? Her gaze was finally pulled to the sphere as it changed shape. Ah, so he manipulated that... thing. Whatever it was.
"You think I am a threat?" Olivia responded quietly, somehow unable to help herself from challenging him. This was probably a bad move on her part and it would be incredibly hard to destroy such a projectile if it was moving as quickly as she'd seen it move before. Still, she couldn't help but wonder what he was on about.

"You're far from a threat, an example maybe, but no threat." He said grinning. "The students who're new around here need to learn who to respect. I'm at the top of the food chain here girl. You're at the very bottom. I'm a shark, you're a minnow." He said flexing his fingers around the glass. "You don't want to mess with me. Now shut your idiotic mouth and walk away. That or things are going to get messy around here. I'm not afraid to hurt anyone that gets in my way...and right now that's exactly where you are."

Somehow he'd gotten her blood to boil and her old lust for battle to resurface. The way he was acting simply demanded it from her. She wanted to see if he had anything to back his claims like the militants that she'd had to deal with. How was he going to make an example of her? Olivia wasn't going to let herself be maimed or killed.
She tilted her head, a tired, humorless smile stretching over her features. Yep; exactly like those people that she'd had to deal with in Colombia. But would he actually have any substance? He did have an edge that all the others didn't. Even if she exploded that thing that he was toying with, he might still be able to use it against her.
"Please. Prove it," Olivia told him softly. What could a little hurt do? There was no battlefield here. A military situation was very unlikely to sprout up in some place like this. There were a few loose pebbles close to him that she could explode if necessary. Only a small amount of concentration would be necessary since she didn't want to break it into fine powder. Oh yes, she was ready to accept this challenge.

"Prove it?" He asked, his tone becoming much more dark. "Fine." He snarled, reaching his free hand into his jeans pocket and pulled out five glass marbles. Sure, they seemed to be nothing more than a child's play thing but in the dangerous hands of Kayne DeRemiro they became weapons. He tossed the spheres in the air, they hovered for a moment before zooming towards Olivia. If she wanted a fight then fine, he was going to tear her to shreds.
He stayed still, not needing to move just yet. He would let the marbles take care of her...let them bounce off her skull a couple of time before he went in for the killing blow. Kayne used his fingers guide the spheres toward the girl, she's gunna learn who he was. Everyone would sooner or later.

The mood changed immediately. She could almost see the little ring that had been created for them. Well. This brought back memories. Olivia took note of the five additional marbles. They could probably be controlled just like that other one. That made the projectile count six.
There was a high chance that these projectiles would move slower than bullets, which meant that she had a decent chance of dodging them. The problem was that they could act like homing missiles. There was only one way to find out. As soon as she saw them moving, Olivia ducked out of the way and headed straight for Kayne. She had no long range weapons of her own and her only real asset here was speed... And maybe endurance.
