The boy was busily scribbling down notes in his book as he looked over the textbook next to him. His tongue was sticking out his mouth, seemingly easier to concentrate if it was. "Square root of..." He said as he dropped his head on the book. "I hate math." The blonde headed kid said with a loud sigh. "Who needs it anyway?"
The boy hopped up from his seat and bounced over to his bed, plopping down. "I'll do it laaaater~" Kaiser said, laughing at himself. He reached under the bed and pulled out his DS. "Pokemon timeeee." The kid said happily as he started the device up.

Awkwardly carrying his box his gaze wandered from side to side, noting each door's number. Finally he was in front of the dorm assigned to him. It was stared at for a moment as he debated exactly how to unlock the door while dealing with the box. Shifting it to the side he pressed it against the wall to help hold it up and reached into his pocket for the key. Pushing the door open, he pocketed the key and walked in. It wasn't until he heard the music that he realized someone must already be in the room. Oops.
"Uh, hey. I'm Lucas. Guess I'm your new room mate." At least the bed situation was easy, walking across the room he set his box down and looked over the room. Bright was the first word that came to mind. At the very least he could be assured that his room mate wasn't some depressed freako killer person.

"Oh!" The boy said as someone walked into his room. He was getting a new roommate? Yesssss! How exciting! He could make a new friend. That was super cool! "Hi there!" Kaiser said with a wave to the guy, Lucas. "I'm Kaiser!" He said as he watched the boy put down his stuff. "Nice to meet you!"
He hopped off his bed and placed the DS on his nightstand. He walked over to the boy and extended his hand. "Welcome to my...er...our room." He said placing his other hand on the back of his neck. "Sorry, I was used to being alone in here. It's been foreeeeever since I had a roommate."

That wasn't how he'd see getting a new room mate if he'd managed to stay alone for a while. Weren't people supposed to like having their own space to themselves? Ah whatever, he was a cheery fellow and that meant only good things.
He shook the other's hand, "What happened to your last room mate? Or should I not ask?"

He took back his hand as after the other shook it. "Who knows? I guess he left?" He said shrugging. "Came in one day and all his stuff was gone. We never really talked anyway. Come to think about it I never really saw him either." The boy said with another shrug.
"What grade are you in? I'm a freshman, I like it here so far. The people are really nice! I'm sure you'll make friends fast. It's easy here because we all are the same, ya know? Powers and stuff. Speaking of, what can you do?" The boy asked, pausing for a second. "I can make stuff from sunlight! Like physical things, I can touch them and stuff." He said as he smiled at the other.

"Maybe you roomed with a ghost."
"Sophomore." Whoa, okay the kid talked a lot. "Uhh," Did he really just tell people about his powers? Eh, the kid was harmless and wasn't like Lucas could do anything about it anyway. "I heal people. Myself too I guess."
He ran a hand through his hair as he wondered what in the world Kaiser meant by that. Touching sunlight? Sounded almost like something a druggie would whisper while in an euphoric state. Whatever, wasn't his power so didn't matter if he understood it.
"That cool," He guessed. Not having met anyone else he wasn't sure if there was a power hierarchy or not.
"So the people here are nice? That's a relief. You hear horror stories about high school and just assume..."

The boys eyes grew wide. "N...no. He wasn't a ghost. At least I don't think so. Can ghosts talk to people? Cause we said hey and stuff...n...nope. He wasn't a ghost. I ain't 'fraid of no ghost!" He said laughing. "Ghostbusters! Ya know? Who ya gunna call?" Did he believe in ghosts? Kaiser wasn't sure, all those scary movies made ghosts look so scary! There had to be nice ghosts, like Casper! Yeah! Casper the friendly ghost. Ok, that made him feel better. If he was rooming with a ghost he was like Casper.
"Woah! You can heal people? That's so flippin' cool! Me and you are gunna have to be beat friends, I'm really clumsy and I trip and fall...a lot. Would you heal me? We're roomies now, you gotta help your roommate out, right?" He asked with a smile as he shook his hair out his face. "Healing people is a good thing, you could be like a super awesome doctor or something!"
He nodded to the other. "Yeah, for the most part the people here are really nice! They have a few meanie faces though, I try to steer clear of them. Bullies and all." He said frowning a bit. "They like to mess with me, but I try to not let it get to me. They're prolly just mad at themselves and take it out on other people. I still try and be nice to them though, you never know. Maybe they just want a friend or somethin'"

"Definitely. Only some people though, I'd imagine even ghosts have standards." Lucas wasn't quite convinced ghosts actually existed, but a few years ago he would have swore that super powers didn't exist. Who knows how many myths were actually true but discounted on the fact that the mass population just didn't understand? He wasn't a conspiracy nut, but this whole magical healing thing had opened his mind just a tad.
He cracked a smile as Kaiser went off on a tangent about ghost busters. He should really watch that movie again, vaguely recalled something about a monster marshmallow or something. Didn't sound right at all.
"Yeah, I guess. Wouldn't be a problem." He couldn't imagine the kid getting more than some bruises or scraps. "I dunno about a doctor. Healing a lot of people would probably hurt. If I'm in a hospital with tons of hurting people I'd be tempted to heal them and I dunno ... probably end up in a coma or something."
Probably had been too much to hope for that everyone was nice here. Ah well, "Probably for the best. Anyone who doesn't like you doesn't seem like someone I want to mess with." The kid had to be the least unlikable person. His personality pretty much screamed love me.
Blinking he realized he hadn't started unpacking yet. Turning he opened the box and sighed at the clothes. He hated moving. Had to find new places for everything to organize it. Most likely would be irritated with his first set up and have to do it over again.
"How are the classes? Do the-Are the teachers you know, like us?"

"Woah, if you heal too many people you could go in a coma? That sucks...like you're doing good things and the side effect is bad." He said with a small sigh. "Side effects suck. The only way I can use mine is by being in direct sunlight. It suuuuuucks so much. I'm trying to work on storing up energy but I guess I'm not good enough yet. Can't figure out how to do it." Kaiser said with a shrug.
The looked at the other. "A lot of people say I'm overwhelming or something. I can't help it! I like people! It does suck when people don't like me though...especially when I never did anything to them! Like they dislike me for a lot of stuff...stupid stuff." The boy said thinking about the people who hated him for is orientation. That's uh stupidest thing to dislike someone for in his eyes. "Like us?" He asked tilting his head. "Nuh uh...they're grown ups...oh...gifted." He said with a slight blush. "Y...yeah. They have powers too."

"Not necessarily bad-well bad, but it makes sense, right? I heal people, using my own energy or something and get tired. Too tired and something's gotta give."
Storing sunshine? The idea of Kaiser sitting out there cupping his hands trying to store it was just humorous. "So you're trying to evolve into a solar panel? Do you soak up sunlight so it turns dark or heat? Or just soak it in like an actual panel?"
First person he met and he was already starting to appreciate the simple logic of his own power. Forming stuff out of sunlight was just mind boggling. While his powers didn't make logical sense either, it had less questions than poor Kaiser's.
"Wouldn't worry about it. You don't plan on changing for them do you?"
"I dunno if that makes me feel better or not." On the one hand it felt less like a program they were sent away to be corralled. On the other ... he wasn't sure.
