Olivia walked to the lounge, hair still slightly damp since she never blew dried it. Not that it mattered that much with such short hair. Since she was indoors, she didn't bother with a jacket, leaving her in a him boat shirt over a black tank top and jeans. She was carrying her boots, which she promptly dropped as soon as she got to a couch.
It was early in the morning and she'd already finished her morning run and stretches. It was earlier than she'd expected so she decided to spend a little bit of time in the lounge before getting some coffee. Nothing like coffee to replenish energy.
Olivia sat down, folding herself up and tipping her head back, closing her eyes. She'd just rest for a while. She had her eyeliner on so all there really was for her to do was put her boots on and go for breakfast.

Signal had just gone for a run through the campus, as he did every morning. He'd decided to head to the student lounge to grab himself a bottled water from one of the vending machines. He stepped into the room, toweling his face off and pulling a dollar from his pocket and looking at the machine... It must have been a while since he'd actually bought from the machine because the price had jumped by 10 cents. He didn't have any coins on him.
He looked around the room, but only saw the girl resting.
"Hey, don't mean to bother you, you got a dime or a quarter I could borrow?" He gave his best smile.

Olivia still tensed up as soon as she'd she heard someone enter. She didn't open her eyes though, keeping as still as she was before and trying to make it seem as though she hadn't noticed the other person, whoever it was. It was a while before the other actually talked.
Male. Sounded tall. From America.
She opened her eyes, tilting her head to actually look at him; she'd gotten the initial assumptions right. After a moment of just looking at him, Olivia finally realized that she was staring and it wasn't the polite thing to do - especially since he was smiling. Staring generally could be taken as a challenge as well - just not really in this country.
"Yes, please wait a moment," she replied, shifting a little so that she could get to a pocket before finding a coin and looking over, "can you catch?" Olivia asked after a moment, tossing the coin up into the air and catching it again.

Signal grinned a little harder. "I'll bet better than you'd think." He crossed his arms, tilting his head. She seemed to be less than bothered with the situation, but something was challenging about her. He held out his hand, "Thanks." He offered for her to take a toss.

Olivia gave him a curt nod, promptly flicking her wrist and sending the coin hurtling through the air and towards its recipient. Money was an easy object to throw. It had a good weight. Not so aerodynamic but it sufficed for now. "De nada," Olivia replied simply, tucking herself back into the comfortable situation from before.
"You run in the morning?" She couldn't help asking. All this time she wondered if anyone here did that at all. Maybe he didn't run but did other exercise; weights maybe, or some other form of aerobic exercise.

Signal caught it between too fingers, flipping it through them and putting it in the machine, the water finally coming to it's mark. He pulled it from the flap, opening it as he turned around and nodded. "Yeah about 5 miles. Somewhere around 3 laps around the school." He drank a bit more of the water, "Are you a runner?" He sat himself down on the chair, wiping his forehead with the towel he had wrapped over his shoulders.

He had a good catch, that was for sure. He was skilled with his fingers to say the least. She stayed silent, listening to the sound of the bottle tumbling down the machine before reaching its destination at the bottom of the machine. Olivia watched the dark haired guy silently, nodding and calculating the distance. It was a fair bit to run and she respected him for that. It sounded like the amount that she was used to running - if she wasn't running seriously.
Olivia dipped her head, "I enjoy running," she agreed, "marathons." Those were fun to run and endure. It was a pity to see people give up though. Sometimes it was a demoralizing event, but she still enjoyed running long distances.

Signal nodded his head. "Impressive. I run because if I get home and I'm not in my best shape, my uncle will have my head. Stinkin drill sergeant he is." He gave a grin, then finished off the bottle, tossing it over toward the waste bucket. "I'll be sure to pay you the quarter back some time. My name's Signal by the way." He held out his hand for her to shake.

Drill sergeant? Olivia tilted her head, silently asking to explain this... uncle of his. She was more than familiar with drill sergeants and that sort of people, but did those people exist in the United States outside of the army? Ah - there, she'd answered her own question. The militants here surely had family and he must have been one of the unlucky ones to be related to one of those people. That must be hard.
Oh; that also explained his skilled movements then. Come to think of it, this guy did have a very sure way of carrying himself. She shrugged, not really caring if he paid her back or not. Olivia didn't see any consequence if he did or didn't. "Olivia," she replied, taking his hand and shaking it firmly, "pleasure to meet you," she added. Conversation wasn't her strongest point.

"Nice to meet you too," Sig gave a smile, leaning back. "So what sort of gift brings you here? I've seen some pretty wild ones myself. I have super eyes." He pointed to his own, as if to emphasize them. "Of course, if you don't want to say, I won't mind that either." If her power was to ignite her pee or something, she might not want to say. He liked to leave that option open.

Olivia nodded easily, pulling her lips up instinctively to return his smile. "Your eyes?" She asked, curious to see what type of power he had. If she had better eyesight, she could extend the range of her explosions.
She shook her head, signaling that she didn't really mind, "explosions," she replied easily. There was nothing to be embarrassed about exploding things. Well, it was a destructive power, but it wasn't all that bad. Olivia was actually happy to be able to say that she could sort of control it.
