About the character
``Name;; Yuuki Nanami
``Nicknames;; Nana-chan, Nana
``Age;; 15
``Gender;; female
``Birthday;; month & day, not year March 3rd
``Grade;; Sophomore
``Heritage;; Japanese
``Orientation;; She probably likes boys, but who knows? Maybe girls too, she’s only fifteen and has never been kissed.
Appearance
``Eyes;; Brown
`` Hair;; Brown
``Height;; 166 cm
``Weight;; probably somewhere around 50 kg
``Body Type;; skinny
``Skin Color;; Asian yellow-ish, very pale
``Tattoos/piercings/scars;; none
``Dress style;; cute, doll-like. She’d rarely wear pants that aren’t short, she usually wears short pleated skirts, leg warmers and stockings in winter. She often wears things that are frilly and pink although she loves wearing all colors, especially green.
``Overall;; While Nana would have appreciated being a little less skinny, especially in the chest area, she’s highly content with the way she looks and tries to make the best of it. She knows that her eyes are large and pretty, for instance, and that she’s adorable-looking enough to never have anyone be genuinely mad at her. She likes the fact that she looks like a doll and appreciates everything girly. Her looks suit her age and her personality.
Personality
``Likes;; The color green, kittens, ribbons, having lots of friends, sleeping, chocolate, laughing, clothes, cool people and anything that smells nice.
``Dislikes;; homework, cleaning, meatloaf, bossy people (anyone bossier than her is a problem), bad odors, violence, cruel people, arrogant people and cockroaches
``Hobbies;; Drawing, sewing, swimming and dancing
``Quirks;; Can’t sleep in complete darkness, is overly honest to the extent of being tactless, so shy on first encounters she might run away and hide.
``Flaws;; She tends to be bossy, she can be self-centered and might try to protect her own emotions by behaving aloof and seeming cold. She can’t keep a secret for very long and if she thinks something about someone she’ll eventually blurt it out.
``Secrets;; She had several secret crushes over numerous boys in the different schools she attended while growing up. But perhaps that thing with her brother is a secret. Well, it’s not exactly a secret that he’s been missing for the past eight months, it’s just she doesn’t want to talk about it. If she’d talk about it, she’d cry.
``Personality;; The problem with becoming Nana’s friend is to get past her initial shyness. She tends to speak in a tiny squeaky voice when she meets someone for the first time and would most likely attempt to hide. However, if she deems a person unthreatening, she would be warm and friendly, though not the person to tell your secrets to because the whole concept of a secret eludes her. Nana may seem not particularly smart or bright, but then suddenly she might lash out and spice things up with a strange dash of uncalled for coolness. She has a temper, and sometimes she wants things to happen in a certain way, if she feels comfortable enough with a person, she could be bossy, although due to her particular “gift”, she’s trying hard to fight her bossy tendencies. She’d never want to hurt someone intentionally and if she does something mean, aside from apologizing constantly for it, she’s the sort of person who’d continue feeling guilty forever.
History
``Mom;; Masako Blake, 45, divorced for the second time after being married to Daniel Blake. Works as an interior designer and lives in Toronto. Nana’s relationship with her mother is very close but can be very tense at times, especially after the appearance of Nana’s gift
``Dad;; Yuuki Suno, office worker, lives in Tokyo. Nana hasn’t seen him since she was eleven, she spoke to him on the telephone six months ago.
``Sibling(s);; Yuuki Rei, 16. Rei is supposed to be in high school. A year ago he had a huge fight with their mother and afterwards asked to return to Japan and live with their dad. He arrived at Tokyo and even attended school for a while. But then one day he simply disappeared, no one knows why or where to, but many long months have passed and there’s no sign of him, the police seemed to have stopped searching and everyone seemed to have lost hope. Since they’re only a year apart, Nana has dealt with this issue by pretending that Rei is still in Tokyo, otherwise she doesn’t know how to deal with it.
``Pet(s);; None
``Other;; Daniel Blake had been Nana’s father for four years after her parents divorced and she, her brother and her mother moved to Toronto. It wasn’t until Nana’s “gift” surfaced that Daniel Blake walked out of their lives just as quickly as he came in. He’s still hovering somewhere in the background although Nana is trying her best to forget about him.
``History;; They were a normal family, that’s what Nana thought. They weren’t an awesome family like her friend Megumi’s family were, but they weren’t an awful family like Chihiro’s. Nana always believed that when all’s said and done, normal is the best.
That was, until she was eleven years old and discovered that there was one thing better than normal - stability. When their parents divorced, Rei was really, really mad, but Nana was simply sad. Sad that she had to go away to a strange country where they speak a strange language. Sad that she’d have to separate from all her friends. It seemed like such a waste, her young life looked like something precious which she lost.
But kids are adaptable. Daniel Blake smiled a lot, and mom smiled a lot next to him. Surrounded by so many smiles, Nana found the courage to make new friends, and create a new precious life. Eventually, Nana’s greatest grief was her older brother, shouldn’t it have been the other way around? He wasn’t quite compatible with Toronto, he wanted Tokyo, year after year, all he wanted was to go back. Eventually, when fighting became so tiring, he did go back. Things became peaceful for a short while, a very short while.
Nana was fourteen and had just started high school. It was an exciting time because from the outside high school seemed the supreme land of coolness. However, the friends she made were perhaps the wrong friends. It all started with a girl named Leigh Madison in Nana’s class. It wasn’t that Leigh was the wrong friend to have, it was Leigh’s older friends who were the wrong sort of friends. Nana had never meant to get dragged into a party and not find a ride home until dawn. Her mom and Daniel met her with grouchy red eyes and angry expressions that morning on the porch.
But that wasn’t the bad part.
They were silent and seething as they escorted her into the living room.
And that wasn’t the bed part either.
They yelled at her, and lectured her. They made her feel like a teeny, tiny stupid insignificant creature all because she had worried them.
And even that wasn’t the bad part.
The bad part happened when Nana lost her temper, when she shouted at them to stop, to shut up, and leave her alone.
And they stopped, they shut up, and left her alone. After that, it was a rolling snowball. Everything fell apart. Gifted? There’s nothing gifted about being cursed, it’s hard enough to grow up in an ordinary sense, but this - this was too much.
The gift got worse, figures of speech became not so figurative. It wasn’t only people who reacted to Nana’s commands, things as well, inanimate objects. Then they got the call that Rei vanished, and then Daniel Blake left, and mom was sad.
Going to that school for people with problems like Nana’s seemed the only plausible thing to do.
``Powers/Abilities/Gifts;; Words of command. Nana can command both inanimate objects and people to do things. For instance, she can tell a door to open and a light to turn on. When she commands people or animals (although she avoids doing that) the command is directed more at the person’s body rather than their brain, that is, if she tells someone to jump, their body will jump even if their brain doesn’t want to and they’ll be completely aware the whole time. People with strong mental capacities might be able to fight Nana’s words of command, although, the older she gets, the stronger the effect of her commands will be.
EDIT: And I forgot the mention, I know this power is very God-mode-ish, therefore it almost goes without saying that it will be used on another character only after receiving OOC permission from that character's writer.

The sun bouncing off the waves was playing tricks on her mind. It wasn’t a very nice day, the sky was hazy and there was a strong wind that made her eyes string and made her hair fly into her face, but then, it was good enough just to distract her and help her forget. She had long ago put down her pencil, since the wind kept ruffling the pages of her sketchbook and had allowed her mind to drift into the present moment.
It was almost pleasant, almost. While looking at the water, her mind was very nearly clear of all other thoughts.
The sound of footsteps brought her sharply back to reality. She jumped to her feet, stuffing her pencil box and sketchbook into her backpack as, through an automatic impulse, she searched for somewhere to hide.
Wait.
But why did she want to hide? She stopped moving, clutching her backpack to her chest, she shouldn’t hide, whoever it is probably came here for their own reasons. Slowly and carefully, she began turning her head to look at the approaching person.
