All in all, it wasn't that bad. Aside from the overwhelming feeling of displacement, as if she was walking inside somebody else's life, it wasn't as bad as it could have been. If she managed to look past the fact that in her eyes, her classmates, whatever else could be said about them, were more frightening than a bunch of flesh-eating monsters, it was just as good and bad as school had always been.
Nanami edged across the room with her head bowed so that her long dark hair fell across her face and settled with her tray at a table in the corner. Who was she kidding? In every parameter she considered, so far, she had managed to come to the conclusion that this place was no other place but hell itself.
She eyed the food with little interest and pushed it away; allowing herself to pout as she rested her elbows on the edge of the table and let her chin fall into the palms of her hands. She wanted her life back, she wanted to see her friends – who were sure she had gone back to Japan to live with her dad – she wanted that wonderful high school life she had dreamt about for so long. She wanted things to be more or less normal again.
She allowed herself to gaze with disdain at the people around her, no one was paying her attention anyway – or so she believed. The most misleading part of it all was that she, and everybody else, simply looked so normal and harmless. Just like regular kids. Nothing like the dangerous predators they all actually were.

This school was awesome. Really it was. Perhaps a bit quiet, but who didn't love a good moment of sprinting headlong through the crowd with an angry teacher behind you?
"Come on! It was a joke!" The black haired boy yelled while stepping over a table and doing a flip over a group of girls giggling and talking. As soon as he feet touched ground, he picked up speed again, cutting around the corner and running even faster until he noticed a girl sitting by herself at a table.
Good, he thought as he stepped through the door briskly and sat down beside her, throwing up the hood on his jacket and smiling brightly at the girl.
"Oh hello, my name's Blake. That guy bashing through the door right now," And sure enough the door opened again to show a red faced man.
"is the janitor. He's a bit peeved that I... Accidentally knocked over his rack full of toilet paper... and trashcans... and uh... Other things. Either case. I'd appreciate you starting up a converstaion with me so that I don't stick out. Kay? Kay. Hi, what's your name?"
