About the character
``Name;; Ryan Grace Shepard
``Nicknames;;Ryan or Ry, Little Shep or Junior to people back home, Shep to some.
``Age;; 16
``Gender;; Female
``Birthday;; September 20th, 1994
``Grade;; Sophomore
``Heritage;; French, English, Swedish
``Orientation;; Heterosexual
Appearance
``Eyes;; Blue
`` Hair;;Red, slightly curly
``Height;; Five foot eight inches
``Weight;; 143 pounds
``Body Type;; Athletic, but she has a fair amount of boobage (thank god because she was beginning to worry)
``Skin Color;; Freckled. In the summer she might get a little tanned but mostly it’s a baby tan with a whole bunch of freckles. In the winter she becomes pale and the stupid things stick out even more.
``Tattoos/piercings/scars;;
She has a scar on her left arm from breaking it, freckles, and a tiny scar above her eyebrow where she split her head open once.
``Dress style;; Even though Ryan has grown up with two brother’s to toughen her up doesn’t mean she’s a full on tomboy. Maribeth, her sister, has made sure Ryan is fully understanding when it comes to style. Though she prefers her usual attire of tank tops and cut off shorts in the summer she doesn’t know the appropriate wear according to season. Jeans are her best friends and she wears them whenever she can. When it comes to parties she usually takes the time to put on a skirt and try her hand at heels. Favorite colors to wear are gray, green, black, and purple.
``Overall;;
Ryan and her sister Maribeth were both born with red hair while their brothers’ have strawberry blonde. Unlike Maribeth who’s is pin straight and never seems to mess up her little sister’s hair is almost always running wild and free. She usually never puts it up unless it’s very hot out and it tumbles in crazy waves down her shoulders. Most of the time she’s going so fast on the boat that she doesn’t even bother looking cute. Her blue eyes have early on set laugh lines in the corners but always seem to suggest she’s planning something. When she was younger she used to wear a one piece because of the awkwardness she had in her own body. But recent years have proven kind and given her some (ahem) assets to show off. It was at the age of ten that her older sister told her the tomboy look wasn’t working for her anymore. Off came the grass stains and on went the lip gloss. Although when she’s swimming Ryan doesn’t bother with make up she does go through a daily routine just like every other girl. Light foundation, some blush, eyeliner, mascara, and a touch of something on her lips. Her sister taught her well. Embracing her figure was a little harder to come by but since hitting fourteen she’s discovered that she doesn’t mind the way boys look her over when she’s pumping gas in her blue bikini. When she’s out at party she can usually be caught in a skirt and some sort of fashionable top. She can usually handle her own in high heels for at least an hour before fearing for her ankles. In the summer she is in a normal uniform of shorts and tanks/tshirts. In the winter she has to become more creative yet still manages to pull off the “Oh hey, yeah I’m a girl and I’m kind of beautiful no big deal” look...or well she thinks she does. Maybe it’s just in her head and she looks like a social disaster. In any case Ryan has confidence in her ability to make people notice that she is indeed female and she does in fact care about her looks.

``Personality;;
When you think of a person named Ryan Shepard you think of maybe a nice looking guy with thick dark hair and a grin that’d make any girl swoon. Instead, when the curtain peels back, you find a freckly red haired girl with and expression that’d make any girl run. Ryan is used to people seeing her name and not expecting her. She’s always used to people not expecting her. On the first layer of the high school sophomore she can come across off putting at best. With a quick wit and smart mouth Miss Shepard doesn’t really give anyone much of a chance when it comes to first impressions. Stuck in her own ways she usually doesn’t welcome strangers with open arms and sometimes (okay, often) judges and jumps to wrong conclusions. She is quick to get angry and hold a grudge. It takes a lot more then a “im sorry” and hug to get Ryan back to your good side. She can handle herself in any situation, including a party or two, and seems like Miss Independent should be her theme song. She is competitive as hell in class and often can beat anyone in a lap around the lake. Her confidence level seems to be surpassing over the invisible line where confidence meets cockiness just a little. Pride is Ryan’s very best friend. On the surface Ryan is just some girl with a bad attitude and sarcastic sense of humor, but on the underneath she is so much more.
So let’s say you make it past these field tests and become Ryan’s friend. You’ve gotten backstage and are about to see what really makes the show so to speak. Now, you’re about to meet a whole different girl. Ryan is FIERCELY loyal to her family and people who are close to her. When she’s not trying to test you anymore she’s actually pretty nice. Her sarcasm is much more entertaining in friendly situations and she can always be counted on to be there when you need her. She stands up for people when someone steps over the line and her temper comes in handy when it’s not directed at you. Ryan has an intense love for wake boarding and often drags her friends down to the lake. And for all of that confidence she seems to possess she can often be modest and almost shy when it comes to cute males. You’ll learn that while Ryan is content to dragging you from party to party the morning after is not a nice event. Ryan is a horrible morning person. It isn’t until she’s showered and had a good breakfast that she becomes human again. She has a hard time opening up to other females but when she does she’s really good at having heart to hearts. While she may be talented in water sports Ryan is by no means graceful. She has broken an arm dirt biking, gotten a concussion on a trampoline, and fell out of her childhood tree house more than once. She’s soft and gooey on the inside and is no stranger to hurt feelings. She’s easily offended and often internally second guesses herself.
In short Ryan is a sixteen year old girl. She has her slip ups and she doesn’t have everything figured out (even though she think she does). She can easily stay up all night gabbing away with the girls and get up the next afternoon and word spar with her big brothers. She’s a glass half full kind of girl and doesn’t give up until she’s exhausted every plan. Her plans are almost always set up for failure and for a red head she has her fair share of blonde moments. Before you look at her and label her a tomboy perhaps you should take a closer look. She’s as much girl as a girl can be, only she can keep it toned down a little. Okay, and because she’s never gotten that girlish squeal run and hug thing quite down.

``History;;
Quinn and Lewis met in college and had a normal courtship. The moved to a little town with a huge lake front to start their lives soon after Lewis finished his business degree. Lewis had always been around boats so when he had the idea to own his own marina Quinn was not surprised. She’d gotten a part time job as a librarian to help with the bills while they built their dream. It wasn’t long until they had a new person in the equation because when Quinn was 26 she had their first son Adam. By the time she had Tristan their business was beginning to thrive and Quinn was able to spend her days at home caring for the boys. It was discussed a long time ago that they’d try one more time for a girl and then stop. Three proved to be the lucky number because Maribeth came along two years later. With three children under the age of five Mrs. Shepard had her hands full. Luckily Lewis took the boys out on the water as soon as they could walk and did his best to keep them occupied. The Shepard family was something to be admired by the rest of the town.
Ryan was a surprised, a very big surprised. When Quinn found out she was pregnant she was almost afraid to tell her husband. With the business at the Marina picking up Lewis had taken to doing long hours at the warehouse while Quinn found herself doing the books. She was so overwhelmed with three children she couldn’t imagine adding a fourth to the mix. When she finally did tell him she was shocked to find he wasn’t all that bothered by news. He sat her down and explained that everything would be alright, that they’d just have to get some extra help around the house. Through out her pregnancy Quinn was sure she was having a boy. She picked out Ryan as the name and seemed so sure that Lewis would merely laugh and comment on the extra set of hands being useful when the boys were old enough to work in the Marina. But when the day came to have the baby the Shepards’ were handed a pink bundle instead of blue. Quinn was confused that her feeling had been wrong but when her husband suggested a name change she stood firm. Ryan was a perfectly acceptable name in her mind and it seemed to fit. So baby Ryan, the girl, went home to her new family not knowing she had to face years of gender mix ups.
“Okay this is where I come in because really, you can’t tell my history without me. Let’s fast forward through my infant years. Oh look baby Ryan drooling, sitting up, pooping. How cute. Okay, stopping right around my fourth birthday. This is the beginning of the end for me. This is the year my brothers have decided my whole life will be full of teases, dares, and hospital visits. My sister is far too girly at the age of five to be considered a play mate but apparently to a seven and nine year old I am still acceptable. When I was four my brother’s taught me how to fit into the dryer. They shut me in there and couldn’t get the door back open, because they’re idiots. Thank god Maribeth has always been prone to tattle telling or I wouldn’t be here today. Okay fast forward again to when I broke my arm.
This is actually funny because Im eight and it’s my first time ever water skiing. Plus, it’s technically my dads fault I got hurt and not my brothers’. I went right instead of left, catching a rock in the shallows and crushing my arm. I cried, which Adam gave me hell for, and had to stay out of the water which was torture. I love the water. Anyway, let’s skip to a year later when I find out my power. It was sort of on accident because we were playing man hunt and whoever was found got a water balloon broken on them. I didn’t want a water balloon obviously but Tristan was it and was coming straight for me. I remember closing my eyes and thinking ‘please dont see me please dont see me’. He ran straight past me and I thought it was luck until I looked down and didn’t see me either. I looked liked bark. It kind of freaked me out. I kept it a secret for about six more months before it started getting out of control. My mom thought I was having a chemical imbalance but she looked it up online. Go figure, there are a lot of freaky people like me out there! We heard about Stonebrook when I was starting seventh grade and pretty much since then I was counting the days till high school. Don’t get me wrong I love my home. I love the water, wake boarding, my family, and the marina. But after awhile I got tired of being Junior, the Baby Shepard, Shep. I wanted a place where no one knew my good looking heart throb brothers and effortlessly graceful sister. I mean, I’m one of the best wake boarders around but that still doesn’t stop people (okay especially boys) from viewing me as the baby of the family and looking me over. No one but my family knows about my power. Everyone in town thinks I go to a special school for smart kids. Which, I mean, is kind of laughable because Im not a genius like Maribeth.
When I first got to Stonebrook was kind of terrified. People were popping up all over the place with strange powers. I’m not really a people person in the first place. I’ve got friend back home that I’ve known since pre-school and I’ve never been good at making new ones. People bug me a lot for some reason. For a long time I was pretty much the weird girl who could be there one minute and gone the next. Eventually I made some friends but I’m not what you call popular. Since I have no boat here I go to parties to entertain myself. I think I have a form of ADHD because I can’t keep still. I crashed all of them in the beginning but eventually people got used to seeing me so they started to invite me. This year I’m studying more because really, my dad said if I flunk I have to go back to Ashridge High. Which hello, why would I want to do that? There I’m Sheppy Junior. Here I am Ryan. Well okay, I don’t know who exactly I am yet here but anything is better than Shep right? Exactly. Okay, I’m done. Anything else you want to know you’re going to have to find out for yourself. Good luck!”
``Powers/Abilities/Gifts;;
Karma Chameleon: Basically she is a Chameleon. Stand against a brick wall and she will take on it’s appearance, becoming almost invisible except for her eyes. She can only hold this for about ten minutes before her brain is exhausted and has to let go. She’s working on it though!
``Role Play Sample;; To give us here at Stone Brook an example of your writing skills.
