``Tattoos/piercings/scars;; Plenty of scars, thanks to Kayne Deremiro, his past bully: one on his left cheek, one large scar down his chest, and two smaller ones on his upper arms. There's also one down his left forearm, from when he accidentally cut himself when he tried to kill his roommate.
``Dress style;; Nathan doesn't normally dress up, usually just wearing a t-shirt and jeans, or occasionally a button-up. The picture above is his school picture, one of the only times that he dresses up. He generally prefers to go out the door and get things done, instead of spending that time on looking nice.
``Overall;; Nathan is...well, he's not bad looking. He doesn't have girls crawling all over him, but he's not without the occasional flirt. He would rather get things done than worry about how he looks, so he's not much for "fancy" clothes.

``Secrets;;

He spent a few weeks in a psych ward
He's supposed to take medications, but never does; he dumps them down the drain so no one will know
``Personality;; Nathan isn't the average boy. He's never been "quite right in the head", you could say. From an early age, he had a fascination with pain and ailments, why and how they occurred, and what they could do to people. When he was older, though, he started to experiment with what he could cause on his own.
When there is no outside stimulus, Nathan seems perfectly nice, if not distant. However, if you set him off by touching him, or if he's trapped in any way, then he becomes violently angry.
``Mom;; Molly Stone, 37, works at factory, provides for but doesn't really care about Nathan
``Dad;; Viktor Stone, 38, works in office, provides for but doesn't really care about Nathan
``Sibling(s);; Lissa Stone, 8, student, afraid of Nathan
``Pet(s);; None
``Other;; Atticus, 48 (deceased), family friend, treated Nathan like a son
Atticus Jude, 17, Ancient Lakes student, confused and complicated
``History;; Nathan seemed like a normal little boy, but as he grew up, his fascination with pain and illness grew. His parents grew to think he was abnormal, but not dangerous. Then he discovered his power, and had an entirely new way to wreak havoc. He began to get into trouble at school, occasionally getting into fights, but no one thought he was dangerous until he temporarily blinded his little sister when he was ten. Though he only blocked the light, doing no permanent damage, his parents considered having him sent away.
He calmed down for a while after that, but his parents began to distance themselves from him, only interacting enough to provide him with the basic necessities. Atticus, though, a friend of Molly's, had a grown Gifted son, and thought that Nathan was acting out because he was afraid of his Gift. He treated Nathan more like a son than his parents did, and happened to mention Stone Brook to them.
The final straw came when Atticus died, a sudden death in a car crash. Nathan, angry, confused, and alone, used his powers to strike out and blind an entire crowd of people. His parents immediately knew that he had done it, and committed him to a psychiatric ward, "in his best interest", of course. The doctors kept him for several weeks before deciding he could go home, but his parents weren't sure they wanted to deal with him. Remembering what Atticus had said, they sent Nathan to Stone Brook Academy. However, they had misunderstood his references, and thought that they were sending their wayward son to a reform school.
After quite some time at Stone Brook, Nathan had a run-in with Kayne Deremiro, the resident "bully". He was saved by Viktor Grant and Zoey Harper, his roommate and his roommate's best friend, respectively. However, he resisted being taken to the hospital so violently that they had to handcuff him and drag him there by force. He blinded both of them with his powers, prompting Viktor to leave him tied up overnight. This again drove Nathan to the point of insanity, and he attempted to kill Viktor and Kayne. He was readmitted to the hospital.
When he got out, Kayne again went after him, but this time there was a young man from another school nearby to save him. His name was Atticus. Nathan, completely convinced that this was "his" Atticus reincarnated, latched onto him and treated him like his savior.
``Powers/Abilities/Gifts;; Light Manipulation: Nathan can control and bend light. If he stops the light from passing past a certain point, he can make darkness in a certain area, and if he chooses to, he can make people see distorted images, or nothing, for a short period of time.
``Role Play Sample;;
It was always a relief to fly, a welcome chance to spread his wings and escape the cruelty of the city. It was far too dangerous to fly there, not where hunters lurked on every corner, their eyes always open for a new rarity to enslave. Lucas knew well what would happen if he let his wings be seen; in fact, he went so far as to only fly at night. Even a mile from the city he still felt anxious in daylight. Only cover of darkness could hide his secret.
A flash of light caught the corner of his eye and he immediately dropped to the ground. Anything that could illuminate him was a threat, and it could easily have come from a hunter's weapon. Once he was safely on his feet, however, he realized it was a light in the sky. Relieved, he sat down on the grass to watch it fall, but a moment later was back on his feet. Falling stars never came so close to the ground, and they never kept going-
He was running the moment it vanished into the trees. Lucas had enough experience in Haven to know that there were all sorts from above, demigods and angels and who knew what else, and he had to get there before a hunter had them ensnared. Even when the light was gone he followed the sound of the crackling branches, darting around trees and jumping over roots until he found the site of the impact.
A flash of motion made him pause, but the pure white shapes in the darkness drew his eye. Wings. Wings, almost exactly like his own, peeking out from behind a tree. Lucas took a tentative step forward, his hands out, palms up. "Hey," he said softly. "Are you OK? My name is Lucas. I can help you if you're hurt. Just come out so I can see you, OK?"
