About the character.
``Name;; Liza Harper Dean
``Nicknames;; Liza or Liz, whatever
``Age;; Sixteen
``Gender;; Female
``Birthday;; May 17th, 1994
``Grade;; Junior
``Heritage;; Oh boy well Harper is Italian and has a little greek in her but surprisingly to her there is a pinch of french.
``Orientation;; She likes boys
Appearance.
``Eyes;; green/hazel
`` Hair;; Dark brown, about to her chest area. She likes to play around with it so one day it could be straight, next curly.
``Height;; Five foot two inches
``Weight;; One Hundred Ten Pounds
``Body Type;;
Petite obviously, she has a pretty nice form and tries to stay active. So, in short she’s healthy
``Skin Color;; Harper always seems to have a light tan look about her, unless it’s summer, then she gets very dark.
``Tattoos/piercings/scars;;
Her ears are pierced and has a tattoo of a butterfly on the back of her left hip. Don’t tell her mom
``Dress style;;
Liza really isn’t that much of a high maintenance girly girl. She rarely dresses up unless it’s for a dance, family function, or a date.So, she usually lounges around in those and sweat pants when she is holed up in her dorm doing homework. Liza loves the classic jeans and t-shirt combination. She rarely wears anything with outlandish graphics and likes polka dots and solid colors. In the summer she likes the same t-shirts with cut offs and cloth shorts. She will also usually be seen in her bathing suit or tank top dresses. Liza loves warm weather but she has a soft spot for Fall and Winter too. She loves long sleeves and wool sweaters. She likes to shop for hats, mittens, and scarves so winter shopping is always fun. Of course she loves big warm coats. Liza has a terrible disease though...she is a shoeholic and if she sees a cute pair of shoes she must by them. She does not know but she will soon face an intervention for this problem.
``Overall;;
Liza doesn’t consider herself a beauty queen. She doesn’t do a lot with make up and the only thing she is ever remotely interested in is her long dark hair. She loves to play with her hair styles and will probably change it three times in one day. Many tell her that she is the exact image of her mother when she was Liza’s age, which should bother her but doesn’t. She’d rather look like her mother the female, then her father the male. Her mother tries to buy her as many dresses as she can but Liza is much more comfortable in a pair of dark washed jeans and a tank top. She feels like dressing up too much is like trying to hide who you are, and she doesn’t want to do that. Her daily beauty routine is shower, wash face, do hair, slap on some light lip gloss and mascara, then get dressed. She is too impatient to spend endless time in front of a mirror, unless she is going on a date or to an important event. Thats about the only time she’ll spazz out and go crazy girly. Got to look good for the guys right?
Miss Dean is very short and she knows there is no hiding it. She is her fathers “pint size cup of spunk” and she isn’t ashamed of it. Standing at only five foot two inches she usually needs help getting things off of high shelves. Thankfully even though she is short Liza has long looking legs so she doesn’t have that “stumpy” vibe. Liza is very active, like running around the campus outside every morning, so she isn’t in fear of her weight. She doesn’t obsess about it and has never had an eating disorder. She is actually fairly thin and petite. So she is in short (no pun intended) very pick up and throw over a shoulder accessible. This happens more times than you would think it would. Not that she minds, she actually finds this quite amusing and entertaining. Liza doesn’t call herself short or petite, she’d prefer the term fun sized. With her ever tan complexion and eternal bright smile you’d think she was entering a beauty pageant. Liza is just a naturally happy girl and it radiates through her whole being, causing this glow like aura to shine through. She may not be the beautiful girl on campus but she’s fine with that. Who wants to be perfect anyway?

``Personality;;
Liza is a mixture between hyper preppy girl and mischievous dennis the menace. She is a naturally happy person so she rarely ever thinks of the negatives. She likes to concentrate on the good things in life and throw the bad out the window. She likes to be surrounded by people and loves to talk about anything for hours on end. Liza doesn’t hesitate to jump in and make friends with a new person. She enjoys meeting new people and since she is a naturally curious person she will end up asking everything about your life. Miss Dean isn’t shy unless she is around her parent’s friends. She has a child like demeanor about her at times where she could be doing homework but then get the irresistible urge to play a game of hide and seek. She is rarely seen without a smile and cannot be discouraged easily. Positive till the end she will prove that she can even if everyone says she can’t.
Now don’t think you have it all figured out, Liza isn’t all sunshine and happiness. She does have her dark side just like everyone else. The girl is VERY independent and opinionated, and usually has adverse effects to the word ‘no’. If you tell her something is dangerous and she shouldn’t do it, she just wants to do it more. Liza is very stubborn and will argue until she is blue in the face. Even if you are 100% right she will still disagree until you get tired and let her believe what she wants to believe. She also is prone to throwing horrible temper tantrums if you piss her off or she doesn’t get her way. They usually go like this: Stomp foot, suck in cheeks, cross arms across chest, yell obscenities, make dramatic exit while claiming she will not speak to you again. But do not fear, it is almost impossible for Liza to hold a grudge for more than three days. Also, if you make plans with her you MUST remind her every other day. Otherwise, she is likely to forget and not show up. Even if you do this she will most likely be five to fifteen minutes late for the meeting. She means well but sometimes Liza gets so wrapped up in the moment she tends to forget about the future.
Liza loves a good prank or joke, which is probably why she has more male friends then female. Most girls find Liza a little...loud and brash. She doesn’t care what gender you are, as long as you enjoy her company she’ll enjoy yours. Now, in Liza’s mind guy friends are very different then guys that she could be interested in. She can ask as gross and goofballish as she wants around her friends, but with cute prospects she has to turn up the charm. Liza can be very seductive when she wants to be. She wouldn’t tell anyone but the girl is a big hopeless romantic at heart. She wants a guy to come in totally unexpected and sweep her off her feet. She thought she had a romance like that, but it fell apart in her hands. She doesn’t do well with betrayal so she has become a little paranoid when it comes to boyfriends. She’s scared of getting hurt again so her last few boyfriends have no lasted very long. She may be all in your face and open on the outside, but inside she has a pretty big wall up. It’d take someone pretty tough to break through that.

``History;;
When Shawn Dean met Ellis Martin, sparks flew. Literally, they were partners in a science lab in their high school and they mixed two chemicals wrong. Ellis’ hair ended up a little fried and Shawn lost an eyebrow to the incident but he didn’t much care. After spending ten minutes (prior to the accident) with his pretty lab partner Shawn Dean was in love. Ellis? Not so much. She was very angry that her hair had been singed so his first impression wasn’t a good one. He didn’t let this deter him though and spent the next year in vain following Miss Martin trying to get her to fall for him. It wasn’t until one rainy day in April of their Senior year that she finally succumbed to his charming ways. In her hurry to get out of the rain, she had regretfully forgot an umbrella, she had slipped and effectively sprained her ankle. Shawn had been waiting in the door way waiting for her when he saw her spill and without hesitation ran out to save the day. Both ended up completely soaked from the cold rain. But as the young man she thought was annoying and dorky picked her up easily and carried her bride like to the nurses office, Ellis found herself falling for him. Which was a total shock to her and even though she tried to hide it for several weeks she finally had to face the music. No, she actually did have to face the music, he asked her to prom and she found she could not say no. After that night they became a couple and Shawn secretly did a happy dance in his mind.
Five years later, after they had survived the college parties and all night study sessions, Ellis Martin relinquished her last name and became Ellis Dean. Shawn comically recalled the day in the rain as he carried his new wife across the thresh hold and, obviously too into the story telling, accidentally caused Ellis to knock her head into the door. You’d think it was a horrible start to a marriage, but while getting stitched up in the ER all the couple could do was laugh. Ellis proclaimed that the hospital was a perfect place for the first night of their honeymoon. Thankfully the rest of the trip went without major injury and they came back ready to start a family. At twenty four Ellis gave birth to their first child, a boy. Connor Dean was the center of Ellis’ whole world for a good few years until she had Penelope at twenty seven. Where Connor was fun loving and charming like his father, Penny always seemed so serious. She was painfully close to her mother. Ellis informed Shawn that she thought two was enough and that she would not be pushing out anymore children. Shawn agreed and the family was a happy foursome. The Deans were content. But life always had to throw the couple a curve ball.
When Ellis found out she was pregnant a third time she was more or less shocked along with a little bit of outrage. She hadn’t wanted another child and in the beginning worried that they couldn’t handle another one. But after soothing words from her husband she calmed and began to grow excited. Liza Harper Dean was born a few days after her mother’s 30th birthday. When she was brought home from the hospital she had a mixed welcome from her two older siblings. Connor was delighted to have another sister to look after, the six year old looking forward to teaching her all the things he knew. Penelope on the other hand was sullen, not willing to give up her “baby of the family” title. As Liza grew her relationship with her big brother became closer, while she and her sister grew distant. It was clear to the family that Liza was a daddy’s girl, adoring Shawn. By the time she could walk she would meet him by the door everyday when he came home from work. The family was happy and Liza grew up with well. More like her father then her mother she was alway confident and cheerful. And for awhile there was nothing to deter that.
When Liza was ten, she came home from school to find her whole family in the living room except her brother. They all had serious expressions on their faces so her first question was what had she done wrong. After her father set her down she became worried and asked where Connor was. She was met with silence and after five minutes the girl felt dread pool in her stomach. She demanded to know the whereabouts of her big brother and that was when her mother gently told her that her brother had died. Connor had lost his best friend in a car accident six months earlier and had been deeply depressed ever since. His grades slipped, he lost his part time job, and had taken to shutting himself into his room. None of the family knew he had gotten addicted to pain pills. Ellis found her only son in his bedroom late that morning, her whole medicine cabinet on his night stand with a note. As Liza cried her parents told her that Connor had wrote ‘Tell Lizzy not to blame herself. She was the only good thing in my crappy life. I’m sorry I couldn’t be strong Liza.’ Liza spent the next three months in therapy and although she assured everyone she was fine, she never spoke of Connor again.
Liza was eleven when she discovered her switching power. She had been arguing with Penelope about her missing top. Holding a hair brush in her hand Liza listened to her sister rant at her, staring at the object and willing it to become the girls shirt. Imagine her surprise when the brush disappeared and in replace of it was a purple top. Both girls were shocked and ran to their parents. At first they thought their daughters were making it up, but after many attempts to recreate the event Liza finally got it right. Ellis and Shawn were shocked and while they told their child she wasn’t a freak, they asked her to keep it a secret. She reluctantly agreed.
It wasn’t until Liza was about to start high school that her parents found Stone Brook. They had been searching for help since the first day her power came to be but they had hit a dead end. Then Stone Brook Academy fell into their laps. They spent the last few weeks of the summer packing Liza’s things and convincing her to go. Liza reluctantly left for Stone Brook, after a tearful goodbye to her parents and a half hearted hug from Penelope. She got the feeling that her sister was glad she’d be gone, so she could get all the lime light.
Now Liza attends Stone Brook Academy and has fallen in love with the place. She has told no one about Connor, and for the most part she is a happy girl. She is a little sad that the year after this one will be her last but she’s come to terms with it. She writes her mother and father every week and hasn’t spoken to her sister in at least a year. Her life has become pretty routine. But knowing Liza and the Dean’s family ‘gift’ of having life throw curve balls she’s sure that it’s bound to spice up soon. Now she has to decided on whether she’s happy about that or not.
``Powers/Abilities/Gifts;;
The Switching Power: Liza has the power to switch the location of one object with another. For example if she forgot her math book she could simply take a hair bow out of her bag and switch it with her book, making it appear in her hand. It takes a lot of concentration. It’s both useful and fun because she can confuse the hell out of people.
“Does being irresistibly adorable count as a power?” -Liza, in my head.

FLASHBACK
"Sofiya, you must understand me. Why would you lower yourself to these Hogwarts idiots. I am confused they are not worth your words," said a thick french accent belonging to a pretty brunette. Sofi was sitting in her "bed" TRYING to study but apprently her friend was not having it. Looking up to meet her companions eyes with her own she sighed," I am just trying to make the best of the situation Melanee. You would do well to just try to talk to them." Her tone was laced with annoyance. She didn't like being at Hogwarts any better than her so called sisters, peers really, but unlike so many of them she was biting her tounge and getting by. She didn't need to make enemies even more than she needed to make friends. Like everything in her life she was asessing the situation, trying to stay neutral. She thought that the other girl's silence was a sign of resignition from the conversation, so she glanced back down at the potions text in front of her. She was just getting to the part she needed when the melodic voice rang in her ear once more," Why should I? The girls here, they are envious of us, of our manners Sofi. You see the way they look at us, we are not welcome. They heard their mothers tell them about our mothers who tried to steal their men from the days of the Tournament. Please, like they'd be any competition even if I wanted any of those boys."
The blonde was beginning to feel the comings of a trash session. Had she not just had one of these an hour before at lunch? Beauxbaton girls clumped together at the end of their "house" tables and putting down the others. Sofiya took a calming breath to clear her mind. Sure, some of the girls did not have the etiquette or manners that had been burned into her and the other girls in blues' minds. But she didn't feel like talking about that fact for the millionth time. Sure, she'd love to go back to Beauxbatons. She'd have her own spacious dorm with only one roommate, their classrooms would be less crowded, and she could go back to having fun conversations. Instead she was stuck with the complaints and grumpy accusations of her friends. Frankly, she wanted to hit them all with a silencing spell. Snapping out of her thoughts to hear the last gripe from Melanee's pouted mouth she rolled her eyes. Picking up her books she shoved them into her pack, ignoring the other girls look confusion. Tossing her uniform hat to the side she slung the bag over her shoulder and began to glide out of the room. She needed to study, some where far from her fellow Beauxbatons. And she knew the library had been claimed a "Hogwarts student" zone. She knew where she could get piece and quiet. Sofi smiled a bit at the thought as she bounded toward the exit of Hufflepuff.
"Sofiya! Where are you going? SOFI!"
So here she was now, thirty minutes later and done with her homework. She looked at her parchement with pride before sitting back and rolling the tension from her shoulders. She didn't think a minor change of scenery would put so many people in a tizzy. If she were to delve deeper the girl concluded she would see that most of her peers were fearful as to why the Ministry had gone to such extremes in the first place. Sofiya had gotten no answers to the letters she had written to the ministry. She studied her ink stained fingers without much interest, haphazardly trying to rub the stains from her pale skin.
No, her letters were probably never even glanced at. The teachers had not been helpful either, telling her not to worry and to concentrate on her studies instead. If she had been a less curious girl she would have taken that and forgotten all about her questions. But she was stubborn and refused to let the subject drop. Her own father refused to tell her any detail he might have known about the situation. He simply wrote that if worst came to worst she would be pulled from school and they would return to Russia. And while the prospect of returning to her birth place was enticing, it was not good enough to satisfy her.
They had all shut her down, and she had no where else to look for answers. Rubbing her forhead the girl let her eyelids meet tiredly. She was exhausted, her thoughts keeping her tossing and turning through the night. That plus the tension between schools was enough to suck the fun and energy out of her petite body. She needed to get out of her own head for a little while. She was beginning to think she would go insane if she continued on this path. So with a new determination the girl stood and headed toward the fiction section of the vast library. Taking the sea of stories before her she stepped slowly down the aisles, sensitive fingertips brushing the spines as she did. Her bright blue eyes scanned back and forth the titles swiftly. Finally after a few moments they caught on a worn pink spine with gold bulk text. A smile began to form on her lips as she pulled it from the book shelf.
A trashy romance novel was just perfect to raise her mood. Sofi turned to the first chapter, reading a few sentences before nodding. Lonely bookworm witch gets passed down for every other good looking classmate. She knew where this book was going but she didn't care. Love stories always had a happy ending, unlike the real world. Happy endings made the blonde hopeful and that was what the medi witch called for so to speak. Tucking the book under her arm she began the journey back to her seat, avoiding all eye contact. She didn't want a fight with anyone and for some reason making eye contact was like an insult these days. Settling back into her spot she placed the book on the table. One hand opened the cover while another buried itself in her soft blonde hair. Ask she sank into the story the outside world melted away. Her vision became tunneled and anyone could sneak up on her. She wasn't concerned with that though. Who would want to talk to Sofiya Kozlov anyway? She was just another face in the crowd.
