Jodie heard Constance say that maybe one day she'd see him again and Jodie nodded.
"Maybe. I dunno. I don't know how I feel about that either though. He was part of the family, so there would be about an equal probability that he would be here to spy on me for my parents." She sighed. Then she heard the comment about the ghost story and thought about good books she had read lately, scratching her chin, thinking a moment before answering.
"Divergent and Insurgent by Veronica Roth were both pretty good. I couldn't put them down. Or, technically I could, but I really really really didn't want to!" Jodie laughed before finishing the chili and cheese nachos and licking her fingers. Cheese. Yum. She had always loved cheese. That was why when her mum put her on an assassin fitness diet for a while, it was pretty much torture for her. No more cheese. It was 'fatty'. Torture, torture, torture.

Constance gave a small nod of agreement and an understanding smile. If her brother was young enough to join Stone Brook, they'd happily send him to the academy to spy on her. Although, no one in the family knows about Luke's abilities, not even her parents, she had been utterly over joyed when he said that she was the only one to ever know about them, she loved keeping people's secrets. Her brother had the power to know what was wrong with a person with one glance, he could pick out things from the smallest anger issue to life threatening terminal illnesses, that was the main reason why he was already one of the most well know doctors in the country, diagnosis was his specialty, he was almost as rich as she was, but she would surpass his wealth quite easily when her grandparents die and the money is passed down to her, as they told her, or when Constance turns eighteen, she inherits her grandparent's money, which has been a family tradition for as long as anyone can remember. She wouldn't be at all surprised if her parents they were devising different ways of keeping an eye on her right this second, the only thing they could agree on nowadays was the fact that they wanted her safe from the world.
Constance cocked her head to the side curiously when Jodie told her about the books she'd read that were pretty good. She laughed softly when Jodie did about putting books down, she knew exactly what that was like. "I'll be sure to add them to my reading list." She told Jodie with a wide grin, "I am planning on going to the bookstore in the next couple of days, so I will pick them up." It wasn't like she had a shortage on money or anything, she could buy all the books she would like.
"How long have you been at the academy?" Constance asked Jodie, she was sure this had come up in a conversation, but most of the time her skills with remembering what people had said to her were lacking completely and she wanted to keep the conversation going.

Jodie saw Constance cock her head to the side and saw the curiosity in the gaze. She heard the laugh and it made her smile. So she was planning on going to the bookstore, huh? Well that was always a good way to relax. Unless of course you shopped like she herself shopped. Then it was a race. She challenged herself to find what exactly what she wanted in under half an hour. She was allowed to look around in that time, but if she went overtime while in line to buy the stuff, she'd deduct a dollar from her next shopping spree for every minute it went over. Sort of a penalty game. It worked well for her. And she needed to challenge herself sometimes. Jodie heard Constance ask how long she'd been at the Academy and she bit her lip, thinking for a moment. It was really hard to say how long she'd been there.
"I don't know exactly. I'm guessing a...month maybe? I dunno really." She shrugged. What could she ask, to continue the conversation? She knew when Constance had come. She had seen Constance the first day with the suitcase. Jodie thought they were maybe running out of topics. Suddenly, she heard a blaring voice and whirled around to look behind her. A megaphone was sticking out of the bowling shoes booth, and the jerk from earlier was talking into it.
"CLOSING TIME IN FIVE MINUTES. I REPEAT. CLOSING TIME IN FIVE MINUTES. PLEASE WRAP UP YOUR GAME AND BRING YOUR SHOES TO THE COUNTER." Jodie sighed and gave a lopsided smile at Constance.
"Looks like we might have to leave pretty soon. As much as I enjoy a good fight, I think I hurt the guy's pride enough today, don't you?" She laughed lightly.
