It was a bright and sunny afternoon and nix should have really been doing class work or homework but she wasn't, she was sat at the edge of the lake with her feet in the water. Her shoes and socks were all tied together and hanging over the side if a bench a little behind her with her school bag on the bench itself. She shook her head and then looked around before lifting her hands up and pulling off her baggy grey t-shirt to reveal a dark purple swimming costume under her clothes. She then looked around and lifted a hand up and ran it through her long and now messy red hair before leaning forwards to look in to the water again and she took a moment to consider actually going for a swim as opposed to playing with water and her shadows

Nathan took a deep breath and leaned back against a tree. He could do this. He had no choice. If he didn't face the lake now, then he would never be able to manage it. With another two years left at the school, the idea of staying away from the lake just because of one incident was stupid. Still, it was a valid reason.
For a moment he pressed his eyes closed, then opened then and stepped out from behind the tree. He could do this. What he hadn't expected, though, was for there to be someone there. Sure, it was sunny, but it was fall. Who went swimming in the fall? At the very least, she'd distracted him from his real reason for being there.

Nix took a few more moment to think before chuckling at herself and then bending over and tugging off her combats and turning to place them on the bench with the rest of her stuff. She heard something move and she felt her fingers tingle for a moment but she was in too good a mood to care today, she walked away from the bench and over to the edge of the water before taking a deep breath and simply diving in to the very cool water. She shivered as she came up and then looked around and made out the shadow of someone standing nearby and she raised an eyebrow before calling out ,"you know, watching someone swim is kinds creepy" she said with a slight hint of laughter in her voice

Nathan scowled. "You think I'm here to watch you?" He paused to zip his jacket and collect his thoughts, then murmured to himself, "Freak." What sort of narcissistic bitch would think he'd only come down there to watch her swim? Of course, he wouldn't have been so quick to judge on a normal day, but the reason he'd gone down to the lake had left his nerves fried, and it was the edgiest he'd felt since he'd started to take his meds.
Whatever. Turning away from the girl, he started the long walk to the far side of the lake. The path was only gravel, and in some places only dirt, but he needed to go before it was compromised by snow.

Nix rolled her eyes as the shadow snapped back in a male voice and she sighed ,"oh, so your friendly too" she said to herself before pushing away from the shallow sides of the lake and then letting herself drift in to the cooler and deeper waters. Her shadows naturally twisted out and around her and made her skin seemed purple under the water and she laughed to her self before lifting a hand to her wet red hair and running her finger through it for a moment
She looked back to where the male had been and saw he'd moved and nodded her head ,"good riddance to stupid people" she said softly to herself before feeling a tingle in her fingers. He clearly hadn't gone all thar far if her shadows and abilities could still pick up anger rolling off him

Ignoring the girl in the lake, Nathan climbed over the rocks until he reached the place. He knew it was the place. At the time it hadn't seemed like it would matter, but now, months later, it was all he could think about. The place was as clear in his mind's eye as it was to his eyes, now that he stood there, and he wasn't quite sure what to do about it. For a moment, he simply stared. Right here. Months before, on this very spot, he'd committed murder.
There was no blood stain, though he'd almost expected there to be. Maybe someone had come and cleaned it away, or maybe the water had lapped up the evidence of his crime. After a brief examination of the spot, he turned and started back up the path. There was nothing more he could do here.

Nix took a deep breath and dipped under the water before feeling a very strong buzz in her finger tips and she was forced to re-surface. She looked around and couldn't see the boy but the fact that her fingers were buzzing quite so madly told her that he was nearby and there was something negative going on in his head. Nix shook herself and a wave of dark purple shadows shot out from her waist and flew through the water as she tries to expel the shadows she didn't need before she heard foot steps on the path again and she felt a panh of worry as her shadow wave cut up through the water

Staring down at the ground, Nathan was too lost in his thoughts to remember that there was another person nearby. Normally he would have been on high alert, making sure they kept their distance, but the events of the past few minutes had made his head spin. He'd been sure there would be some sign of his crime, a mark of the evil he'd committed, but the rocks were clean. It was as though he'd never killed her. If he could shove his conscience away, he could pretend it hadn't happened.
He was brought abruptly back to reality, however, as something shot out of the water. "What the hell are you doing?" he snapped, once he'd recovered a bit.

Nix reached her hands out to try to pull her shadow wave back but they were moving too fast for her to stop but thankfully, the boy had walked slower than she'd thought and it had missed him. He of course snapped at her and she felt her skin burn as he called out and she couldn't help but snap back ,"erm, I'm trying to save the rest of the school from something I can't control, so please shut up and don't think that this is playtime" she hissed before she felt her fingers grow warm again and she shook her. "calm down, don't feed yourself" she said in a small voice to herself as she focused on cooling her fingers
